For one, The Bitter Suite has one of the sexiest moments between them - the Tango. If nothing else, that was just wonderful to watch.

I find it interesting that the Ares of Illusia is a figment of Xena's imagination. He wasn't really there, but he was there in her mind as a temtor, a representation of her darkside.
