Out of the three Norse episodes, this is my favorite. The fight scenes, of which there are many, are exciting and well-directed. The actor playing Odin is mostly weak but has some good moments. When trying to persuade Xena to give him the ring he's almost believable as a villain. Otherwise . . . meh. Britney Powell's acting slips a bit in the beginning when Brunhilda sees Xena for the first time. Yes, everyone seemed to fall in love with Gabrielle. That's the way she's written, and ROC lived up to the part. Brunhilda spends a few weeks with her and loves her; Beowulf already on the way to love after he first meets her.
