        <![CDATA[ I see why people ship Xena and Gabrielle. I see why people (like myself) ship Xena and Ares.


For me, it seems a logical step to ship Xena and Ares if you don&#39;t ship Xena and Gabrielle (or even if you do). There&#39;s so much meat to the possibility
of a relationship between Xena and Ares, for me. But Gabrielle/Ares--that one isn&#39;t as solid for me.


So what I am wondering from all of you who choose to ship Gabrielle and Ares....why? What is it about them that makes you want to ship... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ I would agree with everyone who said that Xena and Ares are just too similar, plus I always liked the idea that Ares is Xena&#39;s father. Plus, the only
living person I thought Xena had romantic chemistry with was Hercules and Rafe(that&#39;s the con-artist&#39;s name, right?) and maybe Caesar (but that&#39;s
just because of Lawless and Urban), other than them I thought Xena&#39;s best stories were with Marcus and most of all Borias.

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;ve thought about it actually Gabrielle and Ares...and I think it works out <em>because</em> the show doesn&#39;t give everything to the audience all the
time, for instance gaps in time, Gabrielle spent a full day with Ares without Xena, and we don&#39;t see every minute of that, as is the same with other times
where Ares is around Gabrielle. The audience can make it all up for themselves. That might have come out wrong, but some of my favorite books are the ones that
don&#39;t tell you... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;m a subtexter/maintexter. Most of my fan fics are about X/G and they are all about love.

However, even in those stories, the person I chose to tap into Gabrielle&#39;s darkside has always be Ares. The chemistry they had together on the screen was
very subtle and very hot (all at the same time) which attracted me. Again, it plays into the genre of &#39;bad/good&#39; and &#39;light/dark&#39; that many of
us read or watch on TV.

			<description><![CDATA[ Well, I have mentioned it before, but I used to be a Xena/Ares shipper. I was crazy about that ship. Then after awhile I decided to read some other stuff,
other pairings and so I ended up reading Gabrielle/Ares stories. Surprisingly, I liked it.. A lot ! At some point, even more than I liked the X/A pairing and I
became a G/A shipper from then on :) (though X/A will always have a place in my heart too ;))

			<description><![CDATA[ Nooo. I&#39;m a full Xena fan but I prefer the idea of mix-and-match/different couples. You would expect Xena to fall for Ares. I mean, lets face it, she was
once a mighty powerful warlord so it wouldn&#39;t be no surprise if she and Ares got together. But then there is Xena and Gabrielle, a bard and an ex-warlord.
One with a past of innocence, one with a past of violence. It definetly wouldn&#39;t be expected for those two to be friends/lovers(whatever you prefer)
together.

<p>Actually, to answer my own question...well, sort of. The reason I have a difficult time seeing Ares with anyone but Xena, or having him drawn to someone
instead of Xena, is simply because I can&#39;t see him falling for anyone but Xena. Xena was the one for him, completely. It&#39;s different for me when
thinking about Xena because it depends on how one views the Xena/Gabrielle relationship...... ]]></description>
