I think cookies' comment was not bothersome due to a seeming slight on Gabby (only at least); rather it seemed have a tinge of dismissiveness toward rape vicitms in general. Like a condescending pat on the head- "Aww, there-there, sad lil' story." And being directed at the beloved Gabster- doubly upsetting, I would wager.

This has been a fascinating debate. I for one could only truly believe that one person would be capable of giving Gabrielle a child, but that option is not on the board.

I would go for Gabrielle having an immaculate conception given to her by the Gods, most likely Aphrodite.

I'm one of those people who refuses to believe that Xena doesn't get revived in some manner. So with that I say it's not canon. In a lot of ways that's kinda true in that I think that the writers didn't know what direction they were going in when they wrote that episode. But perhaps Gabrielle just got pregnant with a random guy (except not random, I mean a guy we haven't met)

I'm still with the idea that she had children...though having one and Xena coming back and them raising it together is an interesting plan. In regards to fanfic... I started writing a post-FIN where she has a kid and Xena returns at the request of a friend, so I found this thread popping up now kinda funny.

Wholesome, comparatively, her image may be - Gabrielle's no sexual camel.
