There was no way Xena could have killed gabby. So Gabrielle would have turned Xena also in a bacchae.
Just as in the real episode, Xena can resist that big ugly red guy (forgot the name ), and kills him.
After that the are trying to deal with there new situation, with Gaby having trouble resisting the dark side. ( flashback star wars

In my last reply ( here ) I told about Intimate Stranger and about Xena´s and Callisto´s destiny when they stayed in by other bodies forever.
But I realized one thing :

Do you think that Callisto loves or hates Xena ?
Because Callisto had couples of sounds like :

Intimate Stranger
= ?? What would happen if Xena would stayed in Callisto´s body ??
Do you think, that Gabrielle would will be able to get used to this Xena´s position ?
Do you think, that it would change something in relationship between Gabby and Xena ?
And what about Callisto in Xena´s body ?? We know, that Xena is big for Calli, do you think, that would...

Well, you never know how it could have been developed. I think the Baccahe of GJWHF were rather lame and one-dimentional. But who knows. If either Xena or Gabrielle became one, they might have developed the Baccahe more and given them more dimension and become more like the ancient Greek version of vampires. I think it could be cool, maybe for an episode arc but not necessarily for the rest of the series.

Hmm, although I do have a thing for vampires... bacchae's aren't quite the same and I don't know if I would have stayed tuned without some hope for a cure or something similar. There'd have to be a bigger picture directly involving the bacchae storyline where they actively sought for a way to overcome it. Now vampires.... bite away and stay stay that way, I don't mind, but the bacchaes are more animal, less human. And they'd be dancing to the big ugly red guy's...

I think we're meant to believe that they serve Bacchus fully and don't have much control over that. It's not well explained within that one episode but that's the feeling I got. I don't know about all Bacchae, but if Xena were one, I think she'd be strong enough to be able to at least attempt to resist it at times but it...

That would be a rather different show! But it's a very interesting concept. Xena Warrior Bacchae, constantly fighting against herself even moreso now than when it was just her darkside she had to deal with! It could have been interesting.

This Awakening series sounds intriguing. Got a link?

Oooh Hunter Ash wrote a series 'The Awakening series' that dealt with this in some parts. I would have loved to have seen that happen in the show sometime, well most of it. Wonderful stories and I think how it would have turned out. Mind you its subtexter, but its smashingly good.

Hmmm, well, that would certainly turn Xena into a vastly different show! (I'm an Angel fan. And one of my friends showed me Forever Knight. I'm certainly not opposed to shows where the leads are vampires.) But yeah, in your scenario, both Xena and Gabrielle would end up Bacchai (since that was the way they were in the end), and I guess the adventures would continue from there. (Not sure I want to imagine it too much farther than that!)

I got an idea ... I hope, that this idea will like you :-)

I have been watching on Xena , let us say on Girl Just Wanna Have Fun , and I had to think about one thing.
What would happen if Gabrielle drunk Bacchus´s blood and she became Bacchae forever ?

My reasons :
1) Gabrielle would be Bacchae and she will kill Xena or she will nip at her :-(
2) Gabrielle would be Bacchae and Xena would will kill her by the help of bone of Dryad
or...
