Glory: She's hot and was a great female villain. I loved how she was out of touch with reality, but due to her strength, was a force to be reckoned with.

Spike: One of the few guys who can switch from dopey to cool. "Lies My Parents Told Me" (I think that's the title) is one of my favorite eps in the series.

Willow: I thought she was endearing, and I liked her powers. To me her lesbianism seemed contrived, but I still liked her.

Anya: Too quirky...

My problem with Buffy is that she thinks she's god's gift. I had a feeling that she did since When She Was Bad & she confirmed it in Conversations With Dead People. Spike--he's just a big ol', annoying, pain in the a$$.

Every once in a while I don't really care for Buffy, but most of the time I think she's awesome.

So, my faves:
1) Spike, because I'm a sucker for the baddies in leather . He is hilarious, and has some awesome quips (not to mention he's gorgeous, and the accent ). I will admit that my opinion is possibly swayed by the fact that the first episode I saw...

The only times I really didn't like Buffy were during When She Was Bad (mostly due to the dance she subjected Willow, Angel and Xander to) and the police station scene during AtS Sanctuary, because she *had* to throw her new boyfriend in Angel's face, just because she couldn't deal with the fact that Angel had a mission that didn't have anything to do with her, and because he wasn't 'mean' to Faith on her behalf. Her jealousy was ugly, unbecoming and totally...

I can see your point, sort of. Willow's descent into Darth Willow was going to happen with or without Tara. I think even Joss said if Willow had still been with Oz when s6 happened, it would have been him who died, triggering Willow's rampage.

But I don't agree, respectfully, that she was slow, soft or useless. She's no more useless than Oz or Jenny or any other supporting character to the Core Four. She gave Willow a strength Willow didn't have on her own...

I really think Tara is just a way for Will's character development. It could have happened if Oz had stayed, it could have happened with any person she could have felt in love with. Will needed a trigger, Joss gave her Tara.

For me, she's really a part of the scenario for Willow and has no existence for herself. But that's just me thinking that and I can understand she's important to fans

Woah, Avallonmist. Tara is not useless if she is there for Willow's character development... and she became the one who everyone could trust.
You know what would of been awesome? A story where Willow and Tara both went to the evil wicka witches side.

I don't like her because she's useless, slow and soft. She's just a trick in the scenario to get Willow at the next stage. The main evolution of Willow it's not her being gay, but her being a powerful witch. She would have become Dark Willow anyway.

Tara's stories are boring.

Not that she's my most favorite character but I can't say there's anything about her that I find annoying.

I'm not in Buffy anymore, but I was a huge fan and when I happen to see an ep by chance on tv, well, I go back to my ancient love and put the dvds on to watch the following eps : p

Spike is easily my favorite character - I like his whole story arc and he's sort of cool and uncool at the same time, and of course he has some fantastic lines.

The one I'm probably most like is Willow (only my hair is still black).

i LOVE all of em to death! but FAITH is my number one forever and always <3
and i always loved spike.
and dru too.
i always seem to fall for the dark ones lol.
but faith bc she's been through so much in her life and yes, may have fallen, but picked herself up and is fighting to right the wrongs in her past and make it up. all the while still being kick ass and 5 by 5 about it

There are certain characters who I only liked for certain seasons. Buffy, well I liked her for almost all seasons..except for Season 3. I'm not a fan of her and Angel.. though I like the relationship as Angel moves on.

The characters who've I liked for every season is Anya and Tara. Anya was just hilarious. Her personality was something the show needed. Tara's grown up attitude and sensitivity was the first aspect that drew me to her. I loved how she became her own...

I see we have a favorite pairing, season and episode topic..but no favorite character one.

So which character is your favorite? Did you have one to start with and then change as you got more into the show? Did certain seasons change your opinion of certain people?
