At what point in the series, (assuming you can choose) would you have opted to take Gabrielle out - and how would you do it? It can be as already written, part of an episode - or you can create an alternative ending.

Why was it hated so much??

I only ask because I seem to be a rare person who loved it. It was totally appropriate and I cant imagine how it could have ended any differently. A 'happily ever after' ending would have been cliched and boring.
